FESTIVAL OF THE MEDIEVAL CULTURAL HERITAGE

9TH - 10TH OF MAY, 2020

PLACE: PALACE CENTER OF THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESERVE "VELIKI PRESLAV"

PERIOD: FROM 11:00 ON MAY 9TH TO 16:00 ON MAY 10TH, 2020

   A festival of the medieval cultural heritage in honor of the great Tsar Simeon I, who established the Bulgarian nationality and put an imprint on the world history, organized by Municipality of Veliki Preslav ,  Archaeological Museum "Veliki Preslav",  "Association for restoration and preservation of  bulgarian traditions - Avitohol".

   Clubs for historical restorations from the country, horse-riding clubs, archaeologists, craftsmen of ancient crafts will show the everyday life and the traditions of Bulgarians from the 9-10th century.

   Accent of the event are the old forgotten crafts, food, clothing, arming and equipment, military arts from the Middle Ages.

   During the two days of the festival, guests will be able to observe participants demonstrations, forging metal objects from household and armaments, making ceramics, jewelry, coinage, woodworking and food preparation. The visitors will be able to make by themselves a ceramic vessel, cut off a coin, shoot whit a bow, test armaments and armor of the warriors and take pictures with them, look at the lifestyle and traditions of our rich cultural heritage.
