The Louvre Museum
EXHIBITION "FROM LOUVRE TO PRESLAV. THE ART OF BYZANTIUM"
On June 20th , in the "Treasury Hall" at the Archaeological Museum "Veliki Preslav" was opened an exhibition "From the Louvre to Preslav. The Art of Byzantium ".
It is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, The Louvre Museum, France and Archaeological Museum "Veliki Preslav" and is part of the joint events of these institutions on the occasion of the presidency of Bulgaria in the European Council.
The exhibition includes masterpieces of Byzantine applied art from the period IX-XIV c.
Medallions by gold and cellular enamel, white clay tiles, silver bracelets, ivory icon and reliquary cross with inscription on Cyrillic discovered in the Bulgarian lands.
Curator of the exhibition is Jean-Baptiste Clais.
The exhibits will be presented by November the 5th, 2018.
